TRANSIT at Clifftown Theatre

Friday 21st June & Saturday 22nd June: 7.30pm
Clifftown Theatre, SS1 1EF

Swiss based physical theatre company À Point presents its brand new production and is proud to return to the Clifftown Theatre for two performances before continuing their tour and going to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August.

TRANSIT is a devised physical theatre show inspired by a true story. Convinced that the world outside is a dangerous place filled with monsters, Samantha Applebee spends her days safe inside her little house writing stories and speaking to her furniture. When she hears of her sister’s fatal accident in France, Samantha realises that she is all alone in the world, and that her little house can no longer contain her. Thus, she departs on a touching yet somewhat peculiar adventure.

”The constant back and forth between dance, song and dialogue is brilliantly realised’ Francois Lilienfeld, Ensuite Kulturmagazin.

This newly commissioned play from looks at the world of Online Media.

When Jonathan Fudge dies, his friends flock to his Facebook page to make sense of the horrible mess.  But when Jonathan starts to respond, they begin to wonder whether their friend has disappeared at all.

Between the odd b*tch, the charity case and the time machine maker they must try to discover where Jonathan is hiding before their increasingly fractured community implodes.

Because his Facebook comments quickly escalate to blank texts and phone calls, the hope that should glue his friends together begins to rip them apart and the graduation ball seems the one electrifying event that Jonathan has confirmed he will attend.
