June 2002 - the audience numbers more than just a few. They come in packs, they
come in droves because they know the kingdom of Southend, is losing its Palace.
Royalty fading into misty nostalgia, tinged with anger at the loss at
the loss at the closure another cycle coming to an end.
I am - We are
- Losing a building / a dwelling / a friend.
But tonight the show must
go on and
I am - We are - Not afraid (No)Not alarmed (No) Not perturbed
or disturbed but SCARED [scriptless].
He's tall and he's broad / You'll often find him walking through squeaky
doors OR Miming large items or inflating his biceps till he looks like Stallone
or Arnie - it's Lee.
Next comes the old, bald, fat c**t with an obsession
for breasts and perpetual flatulence Don't pull this man's finger cause the smell
will often linger, on - it's John.
Then comes the lady we all adore
/ the audience often want to see her doing porn Because we live in a world of
visual satiation / they can't see her intelligence through their anticipation
- Sarah.
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
Well she
moved to Birmingham but you still can't restrain her Ray Mears taught her everything
she knows - like how to piss into a container If you get stranded on an island
or perhaps in a traffic jam (and she can wrestle crocodiles with only one hand)
- Jane.
Then comes the man who is really tall..... It must piss him off
when we point that out because it's always the first thing to come out of our
mouths / not comments about his wit or startling charisma Put your hands together
for Blackman, Mr - Simon.
And then there's me / this could be / my last
Scriptless (for a while) I've chosen truth and freedom and the love of people
over an institution that sometimes makes me feel evil But it leaves me without
a house so I return to the world as my home - but tonight ladies and gentlemen
I will not roam for together
We
are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED
/ SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED / SCRIPT·LESS
We are, SCARED
/ SCRIPT·LESS
